Darumbal People Christmas Holiday SWBTA Cultural Access Dates
Darumbal People are invited to access the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) for Cultural Visits during the Christmas and New Year holiday period. The available access dates are as follows:
- 14th December to 22nd December 2024
- 3rd January to 6th January 2025
- 10th January to 19th January 2025
- 31st January to 2nd February 2025
These visits are of great importance for the Darumbal people, as they provide an opportunity to connect with Country and our Ancestors. Visiting this beautiful piece of Darumbal Nunthi (Country) ensures that our People, especially our young people stay connected to cultural heritage, and strengthens deep understanding and appreciation of our traditions and history.
If you are interested in visiting SWBTA during these dates, please send an email to the Darumbal Liaison Officer at liaison.officer@darumbal.com.au. Include the following details in your email:
- Your full name and the names of the people attending with you
- The date and time you plan to enter and leave SWBTA
- Your car and boat registration number
Once we receive your email, we will respond with the scheduled car inspection and briefing time and date.
We wish all our Darumbal Mob and Community members a very Murri Christmas and a Deadly New Year!
Namaru & Yadaba.
